Mona Lisa

We have seen various representations
of Mona Lisa. This one I found from my
work place's earlier magazines. It caught
my attention because the collage depiction
of Mona Lisa is very interesting and unique.

I found these advertisements very interesting
and eye catching. Look how simple, but strong
are their concepts. Puma is combining the image
and the type together through the use of shoe
strings, which is simple, yet creative. The oil
advertisement is symbolized by using the actual
sunflower instead of a stove. The similar concept
applies to the ketchup advertisement, where the
tomato slices are used to construct the ketchup
bottle. The last advertisement has wonderful
visual imagery, but again, a woman is used as a
sexual object, as it is in most advertisements.

This is a very cost effective advertisement
in Honk Kong for a YOGA school. It shows
the prowess of a yoga practitioner on the
flexible stems of drink straws. It is said
that the enrollment of this Yoga school
went up after this promotional stunt.

This is an ad of FOLGERS coffee placed on top
of manhole cover in New York. The headline is
"Hey, City That Never Sleeps. Wake up." This
ad is very simple, but interesting in the way it is
depicted. Look how the steam is making the ad
more powerful and effective. I think this ad is
impressive, eye catching and perfectly thought.

It is fantastic what the human creative mind can
do. I chose this ad because it is very creative and
powerful. Here is a very creative and eye catching
use of bowling alleys to advertise for dental implant
insurance. Whoever got this idea and made a sudden
leap of imagination was being sooooooooo creative.

Logos

I was thinking of what to blog and decided to go with logo designs.
These logos caught my attention because of its simplicity, use of color
and communicative representation of company. Since, many of us are
more visual and the image says more about the item or the person,
these logos communicate very well image wise. I think they will easily
be separated from bunch of other logos by its attractive and rich design.
Here, we see motion, volume and movement which makes them talk
about their function. Also, the use of red and blue on black background
emphasizes the type and is legible to viewers and everyone.

Social Marketing can be improved more and more

It is a great way to talk to people naturally to give them a taste
of who you are and what your product sounds like. People enjoy
hearing the voices of people whose service have an interest to
them or have something valuable to offer them. One way is to
record an audio message of yourself talking and post it on your
social networking sites to advertise and give more effective details.
Using an audio recording as part of your approach makes easier
and successful to deliver a valid message and encourages people to
be interested in the product or service. You do not have to worry
about too much in the technology departments to provide reliable
samples when you are recording. You can easily make a MP3
recording on your own using free audio recording software, but if
you want to make it fancier and more successful, I suggest you to
add some music or sound effects. Your voice is a very important
aspect of who you are, and when you are in online marketing and
want your product or service be different from others, it may be
one of the only things that separate you from competitors in the
same field.

Meanings and Affects of Color

Did you know that the colors you choose for your marketing
materials affects the impact they make on your target market?
It’s true. This issue interested me when I was designing a label
for my Chinese client Sue. I was having difficulties with the
colors she preferred and she was having with mine. I decided
to do a little research on this and found out that colors act as a
sort of non-verbal communication. They also contain symbolism.
I recommend everyone in your marketing pieces, it is helpful to
keep in mind how the eye and the mind perceive certain colors
as well as what the meanings are that we associate with each color.

Sometimes colors create a physical reaction. For example, it is
believed that red raises blood pressure and blue is known to create
a calming effect. In some cases, colors have a cultural meaning. For
instance, in the U.S. white is used for weddings but in some cultures
it is the color for funerals.

In order to find a good color sets of colors that produces the best
impression, we need to choose a base color then see which colors
can match with it and which can’t. Some combinations are
uncomfortable, or disturbing, while others are pleasant.

Primary colors are seen as simple and direct. So they would be good
to use for projects such as for preschools, kids’ stores, etc.

Bright secondary colors can convey action and excitement. They
would be great to use for sports brochures, restaurants, food, etc.

Deep hues of violet, gold, silver, etc. are used by marketers to convey
richness and security.

Colors often have different meanings in different cultures as we
discussed before. If you will be working with a client from another
ethnic group, it would be beneficial for you to do a little research to
find out what colors mean in that society.
